St Jacques 1st XV are away to Trojans RFC this Saturday, in their twelfth Hampshire Solent League fixture of the season.

The Black and Yellows have opened up a 13 point lead over the chasing pack after a good 28-17 win away at Gosport & Fareham, and they are looking to extend that further this weekend.

Trojans were the second visitors to the KGV earlier this season, and were beaten 61-7 back then. They have at times struggled to fulfil fixtures due to player shortages this season which has hampered their season, however they are a club with a rich heritage and at hope will likely be tougher opposition. They are currently second from bottom in the league, with one win in their last five.

Jon Bell, Head Coach has been able to name a strong squad to travel to the Eastleigh club, with Airy Cleere and Matt Horton amongst others returning to the team.

Piers Ockleford is unavailable for the fixture, so Cleere slots into outside centre and he will partnered by Sam Pearson. Conor Murtagh is again unavailable due to work, so Tom Chammings will continue at fly half and Scott Le Page also returns to the second row after missing last week.

Matt Horton will play at fullback a position he knows well, and the impressive Robbie Titterington and Aaron de Carteret are on the wings.

Tom Chamberlain is unavailable this weekend, so Ben Le Noury slots in at hooker and Ryan Jordan will continue at no 8 in the absence of Dickon Addis.

Ahead of the game Bell said "All I am looking for from the lads is more of the same from last weekend. We were excellent against Gosport away and I want us to replicate that again this weekend. We have a good squad travelling, so I'm confident if we perform well we will hopefully get the win."
