A lot as changed around St Jacques over the past few years, with the introduction of UK league rugby, vastly improved facilities at our home the KGV, and more recently our merger with Guernsey Raiders 2nd XV which provides shared resources, funding & provides competitive UK league rugby for all players locally below the Raiders 1st XV.

We are immensely proud of our heritage and our values which make St Jacques a unique family club, and whilst many things have changed recently, these values are still vitally important to us and will remain central to what we are about. With our new brand we believe we can merge our proud history & values with our new exciting future which we believe is going to be very promising. Rugby is changing, and in order to keep up we have to change too!

‘The Vikings’ we believe is an apt branding for our club, which will help provide a new fresh identity as we embark on our new league adventure in Sussex, where we aim to launch successful raids for victory over our opposition clubs! The brand also goes hand in hand with the way we wish to play our rugby, entertaining our loyal supporters with free flowing play and on the front foot.

The brand also gives the players in our combined squad a new identity, whereas regardless of which club the players came from, they are all members of the Vikings squad as we aim to become a vital cog in the development of rugby players locally.

If you’re a longtime follower of St Jacques, previous follower, or an interested onlooker we would really like it if you got involved with our club this season. Our matchdays at the KGV are a hive of activity and we would like nothing more than to see more people at the KGV supporting and cheering us on. We offer delicious two course prematch lunches, a fully stocked bar with draught beers and ales & often have international & domestic rugby on the television pre & post match.
